Twelve Sky 2 CBT2 Review

Twelve Sky 2 is the sequel to Twelve Sky released a few years back. Twelve Sky 2 was developed by MAYN Interactive and is an overhaul of the first game. The main improvement is the graphical overhaul of the game so that it looks like it was something actually released in 2009. There are many similarities and a few differences from the first game. There are a huge amount of beta keys out right now and not all of them are used yet. The main website also mails out keys sometimes so register an account and wait if you haven't got an account there yet.

Story:

War between some Asian style clans.

Graphics:

A huge visual improvement over the first Twelve Sky Gold. The character and enemy models look great, but the skills could use some work. Many of the hairstyles of characters look too similar for their own good and lacks variety. There is a nice variety in the clothing of the different clans, but the high end preview equipment looks rather silly on most of the characters. Skills seem very bland and there isn't much of a difference between them. Some skill animations are recycled and not much is done to improve it even at higher levels. Enemy animations are fairly smooth.

Gameplay:

For character creation there is a nice selection of options available. The only problem is that much of it looks rather similar and indifferent to the previous selection. There are 3 clans to choose from at first. The 4th one isn't available until a high level at which point you switch clans with that character and your old clan becomes an enemy. There are 3 weapons for each clan to start off with. It doesn't matter which one you choose since you can switch later and learn the corresponding skills.

Each of the 3 weapons for each clan breaks down similarly. The first is the high damage weapon. This one has the highest damage of all the weapons. The second is the defensive based weapon. It has a skill that greatly boosts their defense and ability to take hits. The third is the mage based weapon. It has ranged attacks that none of the other weapons can use. All weapons also have a single hit attack, a 3 hit attack, and an area attack. They also share some common skills such as formations (party buffs), heals, and various self buffs.

There are 4 stats in the game. Strength, vitality, intelligence, and dexterity. Strength gives damage and accuracy. Vitality gives hp and dodge. Intelligence gives mp and damage. Dexterity gives dodge and defense. Unlike other games, dodge works AGAINST you in this game. Defense is the much better choice making dexterity useless. When you dodge, you will cancel your current attack and take the hit and take 0 damage. This will cancel you out of your current attack and make you unable to attack for a second. Enemies don't seem to suffer from this so it makes it very annoying. To avoid all this, players focus on boosting attack and hp rather than bothering with defense at all. As a result, many players just focus on boosting strength and vitality ignoring dexterity and intelligence as much as possible. Spamming potions is possible so maximum hp is more important than anything else. The high level potions restore percentages rather than fixed amounts.
