Dark Age of Camelot Website Redesign and T-Shirts

Last week saw a very special anniversary: One of our oldest players celebrated his 80th birthday. Happy birthday, Gerd! We /salute you for your continued enthusiasm and wish you all the best for the years to come.

But the battles didn’t pause. Probably because of the relic situation – Midgard owns its relics and the ones of Hibernia, while Hibernia keeps controls the ones from Albion – Sunday evening saw a full scale invasion of Midgard’s frontiers. Hibernia’s forces established a foothold in Bledmeer Faste and were soon joined by a big Albion attack on Blendrake Faste. The Battle Herald was on site and you can find some impressions in the Facebook Album(DAOC Platinum).
The bummer in Dark Age of Camelot comes in the low level of lasting appeal. The story does work wonderfully as a motivation for the player to keep going, but there’s a tough grind to get through. The little side items can only entertain you for so long. Shrouded Isles and Trials of Atlantis can now be purchased in the same box as the base game, which is the way things should be, because those two expansions, even together, aren’t spectacular. They are certainly fun, but not for as long as an expansion should be. They don’t add as much play value as an expansion should.

As far as DAoC and the first few expansions are concerned, Mythic has a respectable MMORPG going on, with near-unlimited potential. Future expansions and patches will certianly be what make or break the game. And since as of this writing, Catacombs has already come out and proven awesome, I get to sound all prophetic like I called that(DAOC Plat).
